In 1995, ethnic violence drove thousands of Bassa people from their ancestral land in Nasarawa State. In 2001, community leaders approached CRAM for spiritual help. Following seven days of prayer and fasting, repentance from idol worship, and dedication of the land to Christ, the Federal Government intervened. By 2004, over 3,000 Bassa people returned, accepted Christ, and CRAM established its first church in Bassaland led by missionary Simon Uye.
