a.k.a. CRAM, Ilorin, Kwara State
Our Beginnings
For many years, Christ for Rural Areas Ministries, CRAM, refused to operate or plant Churches in urban centers, due largely to the unwritten alliance between CRAM and Deeper Christian Life Ministry a.k.a. Deeper Life Bible Church, which has been in operation since the late 1970s.
When the alliance eventually broke down in 1983, we decided to plant a Church in Ilorin, being the capital of Kwara State. In August 1984 we held an open air crusade and house-to-house evangelism in Ilorin, using the compound of St. Barnabas Primary School, Sabo-Oke, as the camp venue. Our brethren came from their stations in the villages around as usual. Many souls were saved during the outreach, and we started the follow-up and Bible Study Fellowship with the converts at St. John's African School, Maraba, Ilorin, immediately after the program.
As the weekly fellowship commenced, we were at the same time looking for where we could start a Church, which would later become the headquarters Church for our Ministry, CRAM. Not long after, we were able to secure a place under Temporary Occupancy from the Kwara State Government, along Etsu Close, off Lanjorin Road, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin. We erected a temporary structure there with planks and asbestos roofing. We commenced Church worship service on the site on Sunday, November 4, 1984.
This was where we used thenceforth for our major activities, and it later became our headquarters Church. We continued to use the temporary structure until we were able to get government approval for permanent occupation of the site in 1993 or thereabout. From then, we started the construction of a permanent structure of a befitting Church building, which we completed and dedicated in April 2000.
Operating in the Supernatural
To the glory of God alone, CRAM was born in power on Saturday, March 11, 1978, in the town of Share in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. Right from inception we have been operating in the supernatural. Incredible miracles, signs and wonders have been our daily experiences as a Ministry.
Many souls of hardened criminals and very sinful worldly persons have been won to Christ by the power of God. The dead were raised to life, the sick were healed, the blind received their sight, the crippled walked, the barren received their miracle babies, the mentally deranged were completely healed of mental insanity, and many hopeless situations were turned around — all to the glory of God alone. There is hardly any form of miracle we have not experienced in the Ministry of CRAM, both within and outside the shores of Nigeria.
